Summary: This study evaluated the impact of three biostimulants—legume-derived protein hydrolysate (PH), plant extract (PE), and seaweed extract (SWE)—on the yield, nutritional quality, and economic profitability of greenhouse-grown tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum L.) under soil culture. The focus was on yield performance, mineral composition, antioxidant activities, and key nutritional components such as lycopene, total phenols, and ascorbic acid.
The application of biostimulants, including legume-derived protein hydrolysate, plant extract, and seaweed extract, positively impacts the yield and nutritional quality of greenhouse-grown tomatoes. Despite the increase in production costs, the use of these biostimulants results in higher marketable yields and better fruit quality, leading to net economic gains. This suggests that biostimulants are a valuable investment for enhancing both the productivity and profitability of tomato cultivation.
